Box and Beam started out building container lodges, and I built their first site around that. Alex has been a joiner since leaving school, so when the business moved over to joinery, the site followed. The rebuild leads with the trade: a page for each kind of job, real jobs with where and when, notes on what the houses in each town tend to need, and his day rate out in the open. Containers still get a page.
What they asked for
- Rebuild the site around joinery, the trade the business now runs on, and keep container conversions as one service among the rest.
- Give each kind of job its own page: first and second fix, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows, decking and renovations.
- Show where the work happens, town by town, across Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland.
- Make a free written quote the obvious next step from every page.
What came out of it
- The day rate and the standards every job runs to are published on the site, so a customer knows the terms before they ring.
- A work page of real jobs, each one saying what was done, where and when.
- A quote form that asks for the kind of job and the area first, so the reply can come back with the right questions.
How it was built
- A 16-page WordPress site on the Hello Elementor theme with Elementor Pro, with a blog alongside.
- Fonts and GSAP scroll motion are self-hosted in the site's own plugin, so the pages load nothing from Google Fonts or a CDN.
- Structured data for the services, the areas covered and the FAQs.
