HAVN does not exist. It is an architecture and interiors atelier, built as a complete site to find out whether restraint can carry a whole page on its own. Editorial spacing, one typeface doing all the work, photography given room to breathe. Nobody commissioned it, and that is the point: with no client there is nothing to negotiate away.
What I set out to do
- Sells silence, light and permanence, none of which photograph well.
- Restraint as the whole design, not as a style applied to a busy page.
- One typeface carrying the hierarchy, with spacing doing the rest.
